Nars has always been my top choice for blushes and even my favourite foundation (All Day Luminous) is from Nars, so when I received these two lip pencils from Sephora as a belated birthday gift I was super excited to try them out because so far Nars hasn't let me down. I couldn't have asked for a better colour selection, I was gifted Cruella and Rikugien!

Packaging Detail

I love the compact size of these lip pencils, they're so cute and easy to travel with in your bag; not to mention Nars always has the sleekest packaged/designed products.

Product Detail

If there's one makeup favourite that I have it's red lipstick, so when I opened up the birthday box and saw cruella my heart exploded! It's a deep dark red that compliments my skin tone so nicely. For a matte lipstick, it applies very smoothly and though it does dry to a matte finish, I find it to be more moisturizing than drying.  I love it to bits, it's such a perfect shade of red in my opinion. I'll be sporting this lippie for all the seasons! It resembles Revlon's Really Red lipstick but less matte and more hydrating and a lot easier to apply as its a lip pencil.

Rikugien is a satin finish natural pink that resembles my natural lip colour almost exactly but with more sheen. It is so hydrating for my lips, I wear this when I'm doing natural looks and want to give my lips some fullness as it does a great job of making them appear plumper. It's a very Kylie Jenner colour but with more shimmer.

I'm impressed with the lasting power of cruella, it lasted all day on my lips and I only had to reapply it once as it was slightly fading and I like my lipstick to be fresh and pigmented, not faded. I'm sure it had a lot to do with the matte finish. Rikugien on the other hand, being a satin finish, did not last as long as I'd hoped. It needed around three re-applications throughout the day because it would just be completely gone after a meal or drink. It does fade really nice though leaving behind a little shimmer on your lips.

Final notes

These two lip pencils are perfect additions to my makeup collection, thank you Sephora and Nars <3
I have been wearing these throughout the second half of summer and I've gotten compliments on both of these when I wore them I'm actually so in love with these two because they're just the perfect two shades for me that I can wear every season as they're both so versatile. So far I'm impressed by these Nars lip pencils and I'm definitely going to look into purchasing some more shades because they're just so beautifully pigmented.

What do you think of Cruella and Rikugien, gorgeous huh? I'd love to know what your favourite lippie is at the moment, let me know in the comments below!

Lots of love,
